Students at the X-program are studying multiple fields of science simultaneously in order to get a solid foundation of knowledge. These fields include biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, and computer science. This width in knowledge enables X-students to work in many different fields. Skills that X-students master include studies of microorganisms, understanding of essential genes, and the regulation of those genes. X-students are skilled in everything related to DNA, RNA, and proteins.
The civil engineering program in biotechnology at Uppsala University started in 1992 but has continuously improved over time. Many of the courses in the program have a strong connection with current research and lectures can consist of own discoveries in the field. If you want to learn more about the courses in the X-program you can take a look at the study plan below.
