The Club Committee
The club crew is a sub-committee of SFINX led by the section’s 2 club masters. The club crew’s job is to work before and during the alcohol-related events that the section holds. This work can range from ordering decorations and arranging skits to handling marketing and much more. The committee collaborates a lot with club crews from other sections, and the vision is for the crew to be a place where everyone feels welcome, creativity is encouraged, and it feels natural to get to know new people — and of course have an absolutely great time!
Pub Crawls
Pub crawls are usually internal events held once per term. The dress code is overalls plus a theme, and during the evening you typically move between 6 different stops before ending up at a student nation for the after-party. There is always a point hunt (with prizes) featuring theme-appropriate challenges — a perfect opportunity to get to know people in the section! The club crew’s role is to keep the atmosphere going, count points, and guide the groups between stops.
Sittningar
“Fulsittningar” (casual dinners) are our least formal dinners, often with simpler food and bring-your-own alcohol. The dress code is always overalls plus a theme, with each event having a unique theme revealed in advance. These dinners are arranged together with other sections and tend to be lively events with plenty of energy. During these dinners the club crew can take on various roles — skits are always required, but responsibilities can also include food, decorations, and badges.
“Finsittningar” (formal dinners) are our most formal events and are generally held once per term. Traditionally, only the club masters arrange and run these, giving the club crew a chance to relax and have a genuinely fun evening! Formal dinners are generally held at student nations, where a three-course meal and matching drinks are typically served. The dress code is usually dark suit with a theme-appropriate detail — for men this means at least a two-piece, single-coloured dark suit with a bow tie or tie, and for women a full-length gown to the ankles. A “slabb” is a slightly more casual version of a formal dinner held at a nation, with an odd-jacket dress code and more relaxed rules of order. The club crew performs skits during the evening and arrives early to handle small tasks in the venue.
At a ball, formal attire or traditional folk costume is worn — and you can also wear a traditional student cap! At a ball, medal dinner, or ceremonial dinner, you may also wear a union sash along with any medals.
