The Sports Committee
We are the section’s sports committee! The Sports Committee is a subcommittee of SFINX and is led by the section’s Head of sports. Together, we organize sports activities and events throughout the academic year. Our goal is to create a welcoming space where members can meet new people, stay active, and try out different sports. Everyone is welcome, regardless of fitness level or previous experience. Read more about our different events below.
Events
Every Monday we hold a running session where everyone runs together at whatever pace they like. These so-called “xprings” can range from a relaxed jog to intervals or even an outdoor workout. We also hold training sessions in several different sports, where you can come and train without feeling any pressure on yourself or how you perform. We have also held some tournaments including padel. On top of that, we have organized quizzes, booked a trampoline park, played paintball, and held an Easter egg hunt around Easter.
Ångström Championships
ÅM (Ångström Championships) is a competition open to all sections within the Faculty of Science and Technology. The competition runs throughout each academic year and consists of four tournaments in four different disciplines. Volleyball is played early in the autumn, a mystery sport is held at the end of the autumn term, floorball is played early in the spring, and football is played at the end of the spring. The placement in each sport awards points to the overall standings, and at the end of the academic year the best section is crowned!
